As punishment for his betrayal, Prometheus is chained to a rock day after day, feeling a bird of prey eat his liver. His body regenerates, only to be attacked again the next day. A cycle of vulnerability and regeneration, of a protective layer that is broken and thus exposes the hypersensitive interior to the environment without protection. What layers can fire (also metaphorically) expose? What is under the skin? And under the skin under the skin? What fragile conditions lead to something or someone being held together by them? Can we choose to be vulnerable or does vulnerability simply burst out of us?
