The film The Divine Woman (1928) with Greta Garbo, directed by Victor Sjörtrom, was lost in a fire at MGM in 1965. Today, only nine minutes of the original film remain in an archive in Moscow.
The installation Frames will burn attempts to contextualize these fragments through plasticity, archiving and world-building. The abstract adaptation of the four lost scenes as sculptural sets thematizes and analyses the process of interpretation by the viewer, as well as the personal transformation processes involved.
