Starting from an analysis and exploration of the concepts of Promethean and Papal constructions of the human, this video installation aims to deconstruct the constant state of creation in which trans and queer bodies exist. The dichotomies of human/nature, natural/unnatural and human/environment are to be viewed through a radically queer lens to expose and represent the tensions and gray areas within each element in the film. Using an almost hyper-realistic 3D representation, a surreal scene in an industrial, hellish atmosphere is explored in detail, slowly deciphering both the hostile and tender nuances of each component in the image. Flesh and fire are recurring motifs in this work, with flesh symbolizing material physicality and fire having to do with action and agency.
