“Mom, you hear, there’s no real distance in the world. I am in Berlin, you are in Budapest. But there is no distance." says Sára in a voice message to her mother, as she goes on a walk alone. They used to go on walks every single day together while they lived in the same city, but now they have to do it separately. The voice messages in which they send each other the recordings of the soundscapes of the two different cities are the only dissatisfying simulacrums of the others physical presence. Embodied by the image of the eyes of mother and daughter, the tension between intimacy and distance forms the thematic backbone of the installation.
