Inspired by female protagonists in horror, gore, action and sci-fi films from the eighties to the present day, “FINAL GIRL”, in the format of a multidisciplinary fashion film editorial scene, shows a female character who takes revenge for the stereotypical staging in the cinematic roles she has been forced into over the years.
The Final Girl is staged as a shapeshifter. Her appearance corresponds to the following summarized archetypal looks: DEMON GIRL, SOULEATING WEREWOLF, MURDER MISTRESS, BEASTY SIREN, FLAMETHROWER FINISHER. All roles merge together to create a tyrannical scene of matriarchal revenge.
Quoting aesthetic elements from films such as “Elvira Mistress Of The Dark” (1988), “April Fools Day” (1986), “The Howling” (1981), Lara Croft Tomb Raider (2001) and “Jennifer's Body” (2009), FINAL GIRL aims to highlight the absurdity of the deeply ingrained first assumption that female protagonists always need to be saved rather than feared.
