In the winter semester 2021/22, we focused on the diverse relationships between bodies and fabrics. Thus, the change of time can be seen, among other things, in the change of fashions, fabrics, cuts, colors, textures and patterns. But also current issues such as economy and ecology, climate crisis and gender are closely interwoven with clothing. We express our identity through clothing or disguise ourselves to become another person or cover ourselves to be unrecognized or protected.
We have collaborated with the MA Costume Design program, Film Costume Design, under the direction of Prof. Lisa Meier. In this context, we jointly investigated what students understand by the term costume design in film and which cinematic spaces of possibility are opened up by the costume design.
The goal was to deal intensively with the design questions of the moving image and to develop and realize independent audiovisual works. These could be experimental, documentary, essayistic, narrative, performative or interactive formats using real footage, animation techniques, digital post-production or programming.
