GENDER ROLES AND QUEERNESS IN INDIAN CINEMA
SeminarThe seminar aims to introduce the history and mythological references of gender roles in Hindi language films and the representation of queer identities in classic Bollywood productions and television series as well as in independent films from India. The seminar will involve lectures, film screenings, discussions and individual consultations. Participants should analyse and re-enact short film sequences from classic Bollywood movies. For example, gender-specific gestures, body language, special clothing features, symbols and accessories can be taken up and put into a new setting.
