Every body of water, every ocean, every lake, has unique characteristics that are impossible to grasp in their complexity. The installation VOLUMENS analyzes 16 parameters of four Berlin lakes, such as color, smell, fluctuations in water temperature or water hardness, and transfers them into three-dimensional objects. The four sculptures do not directly show the typical nature of a lake, but capture its characteristic features and combine to form a visual unit. The linear data unfolds sculpturally and thus becomes visible. Hydrophonic sounds make the individual sounds of the lakes audible. The combination of visual and auditory elements creates an immersive experience.
